Finance and Accounts Manager

We are looking for a hands-on Finance and Accounts Manager to own our day-to-day finance function end-to-end. This is not a purely supervisory role; you will be directly responsible for bookkeeping, compliance, and reporting, not just reviewing someone else's work. You will report directly to the founder and play a key role in keeping our financial operations accurate, compliant, and audit-ready as we scale.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Accounting and Bookkeeping:
Own day-to-day bookkeeping using Tally, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely closing every month.
Manage vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
Compliance and Statutory Filings:
Handle GST filings, TDS deductions and returns, and other statutory compliance requirements.
Ensure payroll-related statutory compliance, including PF and ESI as applicable.
Support statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors.
Reporting and Financial Management:
Prepare and maintain financial reports, including P& L, cash flow, and MIS reports for leadership.
Support budgeting and financial planning processes.
Track expenses and flag anomalies or cost-saving opportunities.
Payroll Management:
Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Handle employee queries related to payslips, PF, and tax deductions.
Requirements:
1 to 2 years post-qualification for CAs, or 4 to 5 years for non-CA finance generalists.
CA freshers with up to 2 years of post-qualification experience, or non-CA finance generalists with 4 to 5 years of hands-on experience.
Strong working knowledge of Tally, GST, and TDS.
Comfortably owning the full scope of finance work independently, from bookkeeping to compliance to reporting, not just an oversight or review function
Based in Mumbai and able to work on-site.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced startup environment.
