Full Stack Developer

We are looking for a full-stack developer to join the TrueGreen engineering team. You will be assigned ownership of a specific service and be fully responsible for its end-to-end lifecycle from design and development through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operations. Our platform spans energy trading, smart grid flexibility, meter management, and EV charge point operations, so you will be working on systems that are distributed, data-intensive, and run in production around the clock.
Responsibilities:
Take full end-to-end ownership of an assigned service design, development, deployment, and operations.
Build and maintain robust back-end APIs and services using Node.js .
Develop clean, responsive front-end interfaces with React.
Design data models and query strategies across MongoDB and time-series databases.
Use Redis effectively for caching, pub/sub messaging, and performance optimisation.
Containerise and deploy services with Docker on Linux environments.
Monitor service health, investigate incidents, and drive resolution independently.
Collaborate with the team on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical direction.
Write documentation and maintain operational runbooks for your service.
The core requirements for the job include the following:
Back-End and Systems:
3 + years of professional Node.js experience in production environments.
Solid understanding of distributed systems: message queues, eventual consistency, and service coordination.
Production experience with MongoDB and Redis.
Hands-on with working with time-series data.
Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines for containerised deployments in a Linux environment.
Front-End:
Strong React skills, hooks and context.
Ability to build performant UIs that handle real-time data streams and complex data sets.
Strong CSS skills - layouts, responsive design, and component-level styling (CSS Modules / Tailwind / Prime React).
Required Industry Knowledge:
Candidates must have meaningful hands-on experience in at least one of the following domains: Virtual Power Plants, Energy Trading, Building VPP controllers for DER dispatch or similar control systems, OCPP CPO Platform, Wholesale or intraday energy markets or algorithmic trading, OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1 protocol, OCPI 2.0 CPO or eMSP back-end systems, CSMS development, smart charging, or dynamic load management.
Nice to Have:
Kubernetes.
Grafana / Prometheus.
