Role Description The Lawyer will work on-site in the Greater Chennai Area on a contract basis, supporting Visanka Technologies with legal guidance and documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and service agreements, particularly related to software development, IT consulting, and digital marketing projects. The role involves advising on regulatory compliance, intellectual property rights, data protection, and employment-related matters, as well as assessing legal risks in business operations and client engagements. The Lawyer will liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, manage legal correspondence, and support any dispute resolution or litigation-related activities as needed.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, including contract law, IT services agreements, and technology-related legal frameworks.
Experience with intellectual property, data privacy, and information security regulations relevant to software and digital services.
Ability to draft, review, and negotiate clear, enforceable contracts and legal documents in alignment with business objectives.
Skill in legal research, risk assessment, and providing practical, business-oriented legal advice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a systematic approach to managing multiple matters and deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized institution; enrollment with the Bar Council of India is preferred.
Prior experience working with technology, software, or IT services companies is an advantage.
Demonstrated integrity, professional judgment, and ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
