MyDevConnect ('MDC") is a software development and tech talent sourcing company. We specialize in cultivating and deploying exceptional engineering talent, combining fresh perspectives with deep technical expertise. While MyDevConnect was executing a project for Anheuser-Busch InBev (‘AB InBev’) involving a gaming micropayment system in Nigeria, the team received additional requirement to build a payment platform. That experience led MDC to build PCX. PCX operates two main product lines - Embedded finance and Cross-border payments.
PCXPay is a fintech company building payment infrastructure for businesses: multi-currency virtual accounts, payment orchestration, treasury, FX rates, and escrow, with integrations across banks and payment providers in Africa, the UK, and beyond.
The Role
You'll join a cross-functional team and own features end to end, from backend services and provider integrations to the dashboards our customers and internal teams use every day.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain Python microservices across our payment stack.
Build and improve our React web platform, including the admin and customer dashboards, access control, and payment flows.
Integrate third-party payment providers and banking partners: APIs, webhooks, reconciliation.
Design event-driven workflows using queues, retries, and dead-letter handling.
Ship reliable changes: verify flows end-to-end, monitor in production, and fix issues fast..
Work with Product and Engineering to turn requirements into clear technical plans.
What You Bring
2–4 years of professional full-stack engineering experience.
Strong Python skills and experience building REST APIs.
Strong React skills (hooks, state management, API data fetching); experience with Redux Toolkit/RTK Query and Tailwind is a plus.
Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/EventBridge, API Gateway, Cognito)
Experience integrating external APIs, ideally payments, banking, or fintech providers.
Solid grasp of data consistency, idempotency, and error handling in distributed systems.
Comfortable with Git, code review, and CI/CD.
Clear written communication and ownership of your work.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
Nice to Have
Fintech or payments experience (virtual accounts, FX, payment integrations).
Experience with role-based access control and authentication.
Familiarity with Terraform
