Web Developer Junior — Rebuild two.travel into a Fast, Modern, SEO-First Site
About us: Two Travel is a luxury travel concierge and DMC serving US/Canadian travelers across Colombia and Mexico — villa rentals, private boat charters, bachelor/bachelorette trips, and destination weddings (Two Lovers). Our site is our #1 sales channel.
The role: Our current site runs on WordPress + Elementor with LiteSpeed Cache. It works, but it’s heavy: page-builder bloat, slow Core Web Vitals, plugin sprawl, and technical debt that’s costing us rankings and conversions. We want you to re-architect it into a lean, fast, modern site — and migrate it without losing a single ranking.
What you’ll do:
Propose and own the target architecture — lightweight WP theme (block-based/custom), or headless WP with a Next.js/Astro front end. Make the case, then build it
Hit green Core Web Vitals on mobile across 500+ pages
Execute a zero-loss SEO migration: full URL inventory, 1:1 redirect mapping, preserved metadata, structured data, and internal links (we’ve been burned by a bad migration before — this is non-negotiable)
Implement clean schema markup (LocalBusiness, Product, aggregateRating, geo data per city) with no cross-city contamination
Rebuild templates for our core page types: city hubs, villa/boat listings, experience pages, blog
Keep HubSpot forms/tracking, GA4, and UTM attribution fully intact
Handle multilingual structure (English primary, Spanish) with proper hreflang
Must-haves:
3+ years building high-performance marketing sites; deep WordPress internals knowledge (not just page builders)
Proven SEO-safe migration experience — you’ll be asked for a before/after case study with traffic data
Strong Core Web Vitals track record (show us Lighthouse/CrUX results you own)
Structured data / schema.org fluency
Comfortable working from ticketed specs and an SEO tracker alongside our SEO consultant
Nice-to-haves: Headless WP (WPGraphQL), Next.js or Astro, Cloudflare, travel/hospitality sites, Spanish.
Salary:
3 – 3.5 million (depending on experience)
