Data Engineer (m/w/d)

For one of our clients in the Dutch energy sector, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain scalable data solutions supporting data-driven decision-making and the energy transition.
You will work with modern cloud and data technologies and collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integrations.
Transform complex datasets into reliable and reusable data products.
Build and maintain cloud-based data solutions.
Ensure data quality, reliability, security and performance.
Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects and other engineering teams.
Contribute to data-platform modernisation and cloud migration projects.
Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices.
Help establish and improve data-engineering standards and best practices.
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Experience within the Dutch energy, utilities, renewable-energy or infrastructure sector.
Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform.
Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Snowflake.
Understanding of data modelling, data quality and data governance.
Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent Dutch and English communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
Relevant cloud or data-engineering certifications are a plus, particularly Azure, Databricks or cloud-data-platform certifications.
