What You'll Do
Rising Edge Group is seeking Field Engineer Co-ops to support the execution of high-voltage electrical infrastructure and EPC projects across the United States. This is a hands-on, field-based opportunity for engineering and construction management students to gain practical experience working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and field teams on active utility-scale projects.
Co-ops will support project execution throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout. Depending on project needs and the timing of the assignment, co-ops may have the opportunity to support projects for 3 months, 6 months or up to 1 year, gaining exposure to different aspects of field operations, project management, engineering, and construction.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams with day-to-day project execution
Review drawings, specifications, and project documents for constructability and field requirements
Assist with tracking project progress, quantities, materials, and equipment
Support RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation
Prepare and maintain daily reports, progress reports, project documentation, and other required records
Assist with scheduling and tracking work activities against project milestones
Participate in field walks, inspections, coordination meetings, and project planning activities
Support quality control activities and documentation to ensure work meets project specifications and requirements
Support and maintain environmental compliance requirements and project documentation
Assist with material procurement, receiving, inventory, and field coordination
Assist with cost tracking, reporting, and project controls
Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, engineering teams, and field crews
Maintain accurate project records and daily field documentation
Support testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
Assist with identifying and resolving field issues and communicating project needs to the appropriate team members
Perform other duties as needed to support successful project execution

Requirements
What You'll Bring
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant education, experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Available for a 3-month, 6-month, or up to 1-year co-op assignment, with 6-month assignments preferred based on project and business needs.
Strong interest in electrical infrastructure, power delivery, construction, or EPC
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Ability to work effectively in a field-based construction environment
Willingness to relocate and/or travel to project sites as required
Ability to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, preferred
Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, scheduling software, or other construction/project management systems is a plus
Previous construction, engineering, utility, or internship experience preferred but not required
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to meet the physical and environmental requirements of an active construction site
