Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Collection Agent role based in Mumbai. The Collection Agent is responsible for contacting customers regarding outstanding payments, explaining account status, and negotiating repayment plans in line with company policies. The role involves maintaining accurate records of interactions, updating payment and status information, and escalating complex cases to supervisors when needed. Collection Agents are expected to handle calls and in-person interactions professionally, provide clear information, and ensure a positive customer service experience while meeting collection targets. The position also requires close collaboration with internal teams such as finance and operations to resolve account issues and support smooth cash flow.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Debt Collection and Cash Collection to manage overdue accounts effectively and achieve recovery goals.
Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Customer Service skills to interact with customers professionally, explain account details clearly, and maintain positive relationships.
Candidates should possess foundational Finance knowledge to understand billing, payment terms, and account reconciliation.
Relevant experience in collections, banking, NBFCs, or financial services is beneficial.
Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with targets and deadlines are important.
Comfort using basic computer applications and CRM or collections software is advantageous.
A high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred, along with the ability to work on-site in Mumbai.
