Finance Officer

Role Description The Finance Officer is a part-time, remote role responsible for managing key financial functions to support Nurture KC’s mission and operations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves supporting financial reporting for internal leadership, donors, and grantors, as well as monitoring expenses to ensure compliance with organizational policies and funding requirements. The Finance Officer will collaborate with program staff and leadership to provide financial insights, help with audit preparation, and contribute to the development of financial processes that promote transparency and accountability.
Qualifications
Strong finance and analytical skills, including experience with budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Knowledge and experience in preparing and interpreting financial statements and financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial team members.
Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and familiarity with nonprofit or grant-based accounting is preferred.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote, part-time setting.
Relevant education in finance, accounting, business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
Experience in the nonprofit sector, particularly in maternal and child health or community-focused organizations, is beneficial.
