Veterinary Practice Manager

What You’ll Do
In this veterinary leadership role, you’ll be responsible for the administrative and operational functions that keep the hospital running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
Lead, schedule, train, coach, and support veterinary hospital staff
Partner with leadership on staffing needs, hiring, onboarding, performance, and personnel matters
Recruit team members who align with the hospital’s culture and veterinary care standards
Maintain employee schedules and ensure appropriate staffing based on hospital needs
Address employee and client concerns fairly, professionally, and promptly
Maintain strong communication between veterinary staff, doctors, clients, and leadership
Manage inventory, ordering, equipment, returns, and vendor relationships
Monitor product quantities, pricing, and controlled-substance inventory
Help implement and maintain hospital policies, including DEA/controlled substance and OSHA requirements
Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time
Support accurate patient records and proper use of veterinary terminology
Assist clients with questions about hospital policies, appointments, services, and treatment costs
Notify the appropriate veterinary team members of emergency cases
Represent and market the hospital within the local community and veterinary community
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a Veterinarian Practice Manager who is compassionate, organized, confident, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities. The ideal candidate understands both the people and operational sides of running a veterinary hospital and can lead with fairness, accountability, and empathy.
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
Veterinary Practice Manager or veterinary management experience preferred
At least 1 year of management experience or 3+ years of veterinary experience preferred
Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine terminology and hospital operations
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills
Strong organizational and computer skills
The ability to make fair, unbiased decisions when managing people
A self-starter mindset and desire to continue growing your veterinary leadership skills
Flexibility to adjust your schedule based on hospital needs
