About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

PCMI is a fast-growing global SaaS company and a market leader in extended warranty, F&I, and service contract administration. Our platform automates the entire product lifecycle for customers worldwide — and we're just getting started. With teams across North America (US & Canada), Europe (Poland), and Asia (India), we're modernizing our architecture, embedding AI across our products, and scaling to meet growing demand. We move fast, we build with purpose, and we're hiring leaders who want to shape what comes next.
What You’ll Do
The Business Domain Expert, Dealer Participation is the company's internal source of truth for dealer participation products. This role supplies the subject matter expertise, requirements guidance, process knowledge, regulatory insight, and business validation that product, technology, and operations teams depend on to build and run an F&I administration platform that handles participation accounting correctly. The role carries significant influence over product decisions through the quality of its expertise.
In This Role, You Will
Serve as the primary internal authority on dealer participation program structures.
Explain and defend the economics of each structure — ceding commissions, premium cessions, unearned premium and loss reserves, earnings recognition curves, claims funding, investment income allocation, distributions, loan-backs, and dealer position — to audiences ranging from engineers to executives to clients.
Maintain deep working knowledge of how participation programs interact with upstream and downstream processes.
Act as the escalation point for complex or novel program structures encountered in sales cycles, client onboarding, or production support.
Partner with Product Management to translate business needs into clear, testable requirements.
Review user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and configuration designs for domain accuracy and completeness; identify gaps, incorrect assumptions, and downstream impacts before they reach development.
Provide worked examples, calculation walkthroughs, reference scenarios, and test data that development and QA teams can build and validate against.
Contribute domain input to build/configure/buy discussions, technical trade-offs, and sequencing conversations— framing business consequences and risk so that accountable owners can decide well.
Monitor and interpret the regulatory, tax, and accounting environment affecting dealer participation — IRC
831(b) and
953(d), IRS scrutiny of micro-captive arrangements and related case law, state insurance department requirements, service contract and DOWC statutes, reserve and licensing requirements, and NAIC developments.
Translate regulatory developments into concrete platform implications: what must change, for whom, by when, and what the risk is of not changing it.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, and external advisors (carriers, program administrators, tax counsel, auditors) to validate interpretations; escalate ambiguity rather than resolving it unilaterally.
Advise on audit, examination, and reporting requirements that the administration system must be able to satisfy.
What You’ll Need To Join Our Team
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience.
12+ years of progressive experience in automotive F&I, vehicle service contract administration, dealer participation, or insurance/reinsurance operations, with at least 6 years focused specifically on dealer participation programs.
Demonstrable expert-level command of reinsurance structures used in dealer participation — CFC, NCFC, 831(b), retrospective commission, and DOWC — including the tax, accounting, and regulatory considerations that distinguish them.
Hands-on experience with participation accounting mechanics: cession calculations, ceding commissions, unearned premium and loss reserves, earnings curves, claims funding, investment income, dealer position reporting, and distributions.
Working knowledge of F&I administration systems and the end-to-end lifecycle they support — product setup and rating, contract sale and remittance, cancellation and chargeback, claims adjudication, reinsurance processing, and reporting.
Proven track record of translating complex domain knowledge into requirements, business rules, and test scenarios that technology teams can act on.
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills; comfort working directly with data to validate calculations and investigate variances.
Experience at a third-party administrator (TPA), F&I product provider, agency, carrier, or reinsurance manager supporting dealer participation programs.
Prior experience in a SaaS or product organization, working alongside product management and agile engineering teams.
Familiarity with reinsurance management platforms, participation reporting tools, and statement production processes.
Experience supporting system implementations, conversions, or migrations involving participation data.
Working proficiency with SQL or comparable data query tools for independent analysis and validation.
Exposure to Bermuda, Turks & Caicos, Nevis, or other offshore captive domiciles and their administrative requirements.
