Full-Stack Developer Intern

PrimeMarket.lk is looking for a motivated and technically capable Full-Stack Developer Intern to join our development team and work on our growing vehicle and property marketplace platform.
This is a full-time, 100% remote internship for someone who already has a solid foundation in web development and wants to gain hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining a real-world production application.
We are looking for someone with approximately 1 year of practical experience in full-stack development who is comfortable working across both the frontend and backend.
What you'll be working on
As a Full-Stack Developer Intern, you will work closely with our development team on the continued development and improvement of PrimeMarket.lk.
Your responsibilities may include:
Developing and maintaining features across the frontend and backend
Building responsive and user-friendly web interfaces
Developing and maintaining REST APIs
Working with databases and designing efficient data models
Implementing authentication, authorization, validation, and other backend functionality
Integrating third-party services and APIs
Debugging and resolving application issues
Improving application performance, reliability, and security
Writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code
Participating in code reviews and following development best practices
Working with Git and Git-based development workflows
Deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments
Learning and working with production infrastructure, hosting, and deployment processes
Required Skills & Knowledge
We expect candidates to have a good understanding of:
Frontend
React.js
JavaScript / TypeScript fundamentals
HTML5 and CSS
Responsive web development
Backend
Node.js
Express.js
REST API development
Authentication and authorization concepts
Database
MongoDB
Mongoose or similar ODM/ORM concepts
Basic database design and querying
Development & Infrastructure
Git and GitHub
Basic software engineering principles
Understanding of clean, maintainable code
Debugging and problem-solving
Basic understanding of web hosting and deployment
Basic knowledge of AWS
Basic knowledge of Cloudflare
Nice to Have
The following will be considered an advantage:
Experience deploying applications to AWS
Experience with services such as EC2, S3, CloudFront, or similar
Experience with Cloudflare
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with production applications
Knowledge of TypeScript
Experience with testing and debugging production systems
Relevant cloud or software development certifications
