Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Advisor role based in Bengaluru. The Academic Advisor will provide one-on-one and group advising to students, helping them understand program requirements, select appropriate courses, and create academic plans aligned with their goals. The role involves offering guidance on career pathways, connecting students to relevant resources, and supporting them through key transitions such as program selection, internships, and further studies. The Academic Advisor will monitor student progress, maintain accurate advising records, and collaborate with faculty and administrative teams to address student needs. The position also includes organizing information sessions, workshops, and outreach activities to enhance student engagement and success.
Qualifications
Counseling skills, including Student Counseling and Career Counseling, with the ability to provide empathetic, solution-focused guidance.
Academic Advising and Education-related expertise to support course planning, program selection, and academic progression.
Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with students, families, and institutional stakeholders.
Relevant academic background, preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
Experience working with students or in an educational setting, with a commitment to inclusivity and non-discriminatory practices.
Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple advising cases and maintain accurate documentation.
Proficiency with basic office software and student information systems; comfort with data tracking and reporting.
Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, collaborate within a team, and maintain professional ethics and confidentiality.
