Position Description:
The Department of Anthropology at the University of Louisville seeks a scholar experienced with community-engaged and mixed methods research to serve as a Temporary Qualitative Researcher.
This position will work closely with the project PI and wider interdisciplinary team to organize data collection, data analysis, and publication on community engaged research about climate resilience. This will include coordinating community outreach and data collection in Louisville, coordinating work on systematic literature reviews, supporting mixed methods data analysis, and helping prepare research for presentations and publications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Qualitative data collection planning, coordination, and implementation, in collaboration with PI and other researchers on the project.
Expert knowledge of and experience using the following methods for social science data collection through community engaged approaches: semi-structured interviews, focus groups, surveys, and Photovoice.
Experience with community engaged research.
Familiarity with qualitative coding and experience using major data analysis software programs for the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Experience collaboratively writing and producing academic publications on team-based research projects.
Experience with systematic literature review processes and software programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral degree in public health or social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
Proficiency in qualitative data collection methods including interviews, Photovoice, surveys, and focus groups, as well as data analysis experience including with creating thematic code books.
Experience with community engaged research.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; and strong organizational skills.
Experience working in research at the intersections of climate change, resilience, and health.
Competencies

Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including writing for both academic and public audiences.

Working Conditions
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work in support of research. Work will be primarily remote but will include the need to attend regular in-person meetings and data collection events in Louisville and may include intermittent travel out of state for research presentations and/or meetings.
Compensation Will Be Commensurate To Candidate Experience.
