Identify geographic markets with strong membership-development potential and coordinate travel accordingly.
Travel to targeted markets as needed to meet prospective members and develop relationships.
Partner with staff and the Membership Committee of the Board to establish measurable membership-growth objectives and performance metrics.
Maintain appropriate follow-up and communication throughout the prospecting and membership-development process.
Member Engagement & Organizational Support

Develop a strong working knowledge of supplier and service-partner programs available to members.
Understand our rebate programs and how member rebates are administered.
Become familiar with the organization's Ignite Conference and other member programs and events.
Partner with the Director of Engagement and CEO to identify members with limited participation and develop strategies to improve engagement.
Collaborate across departments to ensure prospective and existing members understand the resources and opportunities available through membership.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support membership growth and organizational objectives.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to maintain accurate and detailed travel and expense reporting.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
Must reside within reasonable proximity to a major airport.
Ability to understand, embrace, and represent the culture and values of membership.

Base Salary: $115,000 annually
Performance Bonus: Up to $20,000 annually based on achievement of established goals

The ideal candidate is a business development and relationship-management professional who is comfortable working directly with independent business owners. Experience within the furniture, home furnishings, retail, buying group, association, membership development, or related industries would be particularly valuable.
This person should be equally comfortable prospecting for new relationships, traveling to meet prospective members, presenting a compelling value proposition, and developing long-term relationships after a member joins.
