Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at AFPL’s facility in Nagpur. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets for fasteners and fabricated components. The Production Manager will coordinate with procurement, quality, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure continuous material flow, optimal machine utilization, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing production schedules, monitoring performance metrics, resolving bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and guiding production staff to achieve operational excellence. The role also involves maintaining documentation, supporting audits, collaborating with senior management on capacity planning, and driving initiatives for cost reduction, efficiency, and quality enhancement.
Qualifications
Strong production planning and shop-floor management skills, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
Experience in manufacturing operations for fasteners, metal components, or similar engineering products, with familiarity in MS, HT, SS, and coated fasteners.
Ability to implement and monitor quality control processes, including inspection routines, adherence to specifications, and continuous improvement practices.
Knowledge of safety standards, industrial regulations, and best practices in machine maintenance coordination and workplace safety.
Proficiency in using production management tools and basic ERP/MRP or manufacturing software for tracking output, inventory, and performance.
Strong leadership, team supervision, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and develop production staff.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Relevant technical qualification such as a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Prior experience as a Production Manager or in a similar supervisory role in a manufacturing environment; experience with export-oriented operations
