Company Description Disability Partnerships is a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2016, works across business, nonprofit, government, education, and faith-based sectors to advance economic empowerment, education, accessible housing, and physical health and wellness for persons with disabilities. We provide free, virtual adaptive wellness, education, affordable accessible housing, mental health support and economic empowerment programs to more than 4,100 participants with disabilities a year. Through strategic partnerships, targeted communication, and adaptive fitness events, Disability Partnerships has reached key milestones in its early years. Guided by a mission to improve quality of life, the organization believes that persons with disabilities can thrive and achieve greater heights, not just survive.
Role Description The Bookkeeper is a contract, remote role responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records to support Disability Partnerships’ mission-driven operations.
Hours: 5 to 10 hours a month, with a few extra hours in January, February, April, and October.
Pay: $25 to $35 an hour, or a flat monthly fee, based on experience. Independent contractor.
Reports to the Founder and President. Works closely with the Board Treasurer.
What you will do each month
• Record all income and expenses in QuickBooks Online. Code each one to theright account, program, and funder.
• Track restricted grants separately, so that we can show each funder how itsmoney was spent.
•Reconcile the bank account and the online giving platforms.
• Prepare the contractor payment list for approval. Schedule payments afterapproval.
• Send reports on financial position.
• Keep receipts, invoices, W-9 forms, and grant files in order in our secure folder.
What you will do each year
•January: prepare and file 1099-NEC forms for contractors.
•February: close the year. Give the statements to the board member whoprepares our Form 990-EZ and answer their questions.
• Fall: help the President and Treasurer build the next year's budget.
As needed: prepare financial reports for grant applications and grant reports. Join the Finance Committee for 30 minutes each quarter.

Qualifications
2+ years or more maintaining books for nonprofits. Strong QuickBooks experience and online skills (certification is a plus). Experience with restricted grants and 1099 forms.Strong bookkeeping skills, including maintaining ledgers, processing transactions, and supporting month-end close.
Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and related financial reports.
Proficiency with accounting software and basic finance principles to support budgeting and cash flow management.
Ability to accurately prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
Attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality in handling financial data.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Prior experience in nonprofit accounting or grant-related financial tracking is beneficial.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
