Role Description The Senior Product Engineer / Technical Lead will oversee the end-to-end technical design, development, and delivery of core Farmlog products in a full-time, remote capacity. This role involves leading engineering initiatives, defining system architecture, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with product and design teams, translating requirements into technical solutions, reviewing code, and guiding implementation best practices. The Technical Lead will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and drive continuous improvement in development processes and tools. Additionally, this role will contribute to product roadmap decisions, evaluate new technologies, and support deployments and troubleshooting in production environments.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data, solve technical problems, and support data-informed product decisions.
Proficiency in product engineering, including system architecture, software development, and technical leadership in modern tech stacks.
Effective communication skills for collaborating across engineering, product, and non-technical stakeholders, and for documenting technical decisions.
Experience in product design, with the ability to work closely with UX/UI teams to create intuitive, user-centered solutions.
Background in research and development (R&D), including evaluating new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to improve product capabilities.
Hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructure, APIs, databases, and agile development practices.
Previous experience in a lead or senior engineering role, preferably in SaaS or data-driven platforms.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and support a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.
