Early partners include NerdWallet, Flychain, and Heard. The company was founded in 2021 by former leaders at Robinhood, Wise, and Justworks.
About the role
We're looking for a contract Small Business Financial Consultant to work with our small business owner clients on the business side of their finances. This includes entity structure, cash flow planning, tax strategy, and general business consulting. We're expecting to ramp up over time from 5 hours/week to 15-20 hours/week.
This role is remote, but we're looking for someone in US time zones. Flexible hours available, including options for nights and weekends if preferred.
What you'll do
Conduct video calls with prospective clients to understand their business needs, explain how our services could help, and walk through what working with Uprise looks like.
Work closely with clients on tax strategy and business-level financial decisions, soliciting feedback on what we can do better.
Develop succinct and actionable business tax and consulting recommendations, leveraging our proprietary software.
Respond to clients' messages and questions about their business finances.
Articulate prospective client needs, trends observed across client calls, and ideas for process or product improvements.
We're looking for professionals who:
Have experience advising small business owners on business consulting and financial strategy (e.g. entity structure, profitability, cash flow, financing operations)
Enjoy working directly with clients and explaining financial concepts clearly
Are aligned with Uprise's mission to make financial advice more accessible
It's a plus (but not required) if you have experience with:
CPA or EA designation
Tax strategy and planning (e.g. S-corp elections, estimated taxes)
Agriculture experience, or experience advising agriculture business owners
Tax filing experience
