Learning and Development Manager

The team
This global pharmaceutical company is building out its India hub across research, quality, and commercial functions, and as headcount climbs past a few hundred people, ad-hoc training is no longer enough. The company has partnered with Flexiple to hire a Learning and Development Manager who can build a proper learning function for the hub, one that can serve scientists, quality staff, and commercial teams with very different training needs under one roof.
The remit
You would design the hub's learning strategy from the ground up, starting with a skills-gap assessment across functions, then building programmes that range from compliance and quality-adjacent training to leadership development for first-time managers. You would manage relationships with external training vendors and subject-matter experts, own the learning budget, and report outcomes back to hub leadership in terms they care about, not just attendance numbers.
Build and own the hub-wide learning strategy across scientific and commercial teams
Design and roll out compliance, technical, and leadership development programmes
Manage vendor relationships, learning budget, and a small internal learning team
What we're looking for
5 to 10 years in learning and development, including at least some time building a function rather than only running existing programmes. Experience in a pharmaceutical, life-sciences, or other regulated environment is a genuine advantage, since a meaningful share of the training here touches compliance requirements. You should be comfortable presenting learning outcomes to senior leadership and defending a budget.
Familiarity with an LMS and instructional-design fundamentals
A postgraduate qualification in HR, organisational development, or a related field
How we'll hire
On-site in Hyderabad or Mumbai, working closely with hub leadership. The process runs HR Screening, a strategy Assignment, a Hiring Manager Round, and a Leadership Round before a final decision, since this is a function being built from scratch.
