Role Description The General Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dehradun. The General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations across production, quality, procurement, finances and logistics to ensure smooth and efficient functioning of the manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include managing budgets, optimizing resource utilization, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing process improvements. The role involves leading and mentoring cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders. The General Manager will also contribute to strategic planning, business development initiatives, and risk management to support sustainable growth of Balaji Leather Industries.
Qualifications
Proven experience of 10 years in manufacturing or industrial operations management, preferably within leather, textiles, or related sectors
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop diverse teams at multiple levels
Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial oversight for plant or business operations
Experience in production planning, process optimization, and quality control methodologies
Knowledge of supply chain management, vendor coordination, and inventory control practices
Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing environments
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external partners
Comfort with using basic business software and manufacturing-related systems or ERPs
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage
Previous experience in a senior supervisory or general management role is highly desirable
