Position
Are you ready to transform mathematics instruction across an entire district? The Director of Implementation, Design, and Coaching is the visionary leader who makes it happen. In this hybrid role, you'll drive measurable instructional excellence by bridging the gap between district strategy and classroom practice—leading implementation of Eureka Math² and Illustrative Mathematics while ensuring every student has access to rigorous, coherent mathematics instruction from Grades 3–8 and 11.
This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You'll serve as the primary strategic partner for district content leads and school-based leaders, translating ambitious mathematics priorities into actionable plans and delivering the coaching and design expertise that moves the needle on student outcomes. You'll own the full lifecycle of implementation—from launch through completion—while maintaining accountability for both instructional coherence and measurable impact across Aspire Public Schools Bay Area.
Leading Educators' mathematics partnership with Aspire is anchored in excellence. You'll steward coherence across curriculum, assessment, and literacy at every level of the system—from org-wide vision to school-wide structures to classroom practice. Approximately 60% of your time will focus on leading this partnership through implementation, design, and coaching, with an additional 15% contributing to Leading Educators' Math Network, where you'll help develop, pilot, and refine shared resources and processes that create consistency across our national math projects. Do you have expertise in…
Deep mathematics content knowledge and instructional materials fluency? You bring genuine expertise in mathematics (Grades 3–12) with demonstrated fluency in high-quality instructional materials like Eureka Math² and Illustrative Mathematics, plus working knowledge of assessment systems including CAASPP and HQIM unit assessments.
Translating strategy into execution? You excel at converting organizational and client priorities into clear project plans, delivery structures, measurable milestones, and accountability mechanisms that guide execution across complex, multi-school implementation efforts.
Designing and delivering coaching that drives results? You've designed high-quality professional learning and coaching experiences aligned to curriculum, standards, and district priorities—and you know how to sequence them so school and district leaders can apply learning and see measurable improvement.
Building and sustaining strategic partnerships? You navigate competing priorities and stakeholder concerns while maintaining alignment to scope, timelines, and intended outcomes. You build productive working relationships through consistent communication, clear follow-through, and commanding knowledge of project goals.

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in education, instructional leadership, curriculum implementation, or district-level instructional support.
Deep content expertise in mathematics (Grades 3–12) with fluency in Eureka Math² and Illustrative Mathematics, plus familiarity with mathematics assessment systems (CAASPP and HQIM unit assessments)
Demonstrated experience leading complex implementation efforts across multiple schools or at the district level with measurable results.
Proven ability to design high-quality professional learning and provide direct coaching to school or district leaders to strengthen their instructional and leadership practices.
Track record serving as a primary client or partner relationship owner within a district or multi-school context, managing expectations and maintaining alignment between district strategy and delivered services.
Based in California with San Francisco Bay Area strongly preferred, given the on-site nature of the Aspire partnership; ability to travel frequently to Aspire Bay Area school sites, plus periodic national travel for organizational retreats, programming, and professional development.
