Chowdhury Law Firm is a Texas-based immigration law firm dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented, and organized Bilingual Finance & Accounting Assistant to join our remote team and support the firm's financial and administrative operations.
Position Overview
The Bilingual Finance & Accounting Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the firm's day-to-day financial and billing activities, including payment processing, account reconciliation, client payment tracking, collections support, and maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers, proficient in both English and Spanish, and able to handle confidential financial and client information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Process and accurately record client payments, deposits, and other financial transactions.
Monitor client payment plans and follow up on outstanding balances.
Maintain accurate records of payments, invoices, receipts, and account balances.
Assist with credit card and electronic payment processing.
Reconcile payment records and identify discrepancies or missing transactions.
Assist with preparing financial reports and summaries for management.
Coordinate with the firm's Sales, Collections, and Case Management teams regarding client payments and account information.
Verify payment information and ensure transactions are properly documented.
Assist with client billing and payment-related inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintain organized digital records and financial documentation.
Protect confidential client and firm financial information.
Assist with other administrative and accounting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, billing, collections, finance, or a related administrative role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Comfortable working with numbers and financial information.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote-work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with payment processing systems or accounting software.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms.
Experience in a law firm or professional-services environment.
Previous experience managing payment plans or client accounts.
Familiarity with CRM or case-management software.
