About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Security Lead to oversee and enhance the security posture of Sierra’s platform. This pivotal role involves managing application security, cloud security, network defenses, and AI agent safety. The ideal candidate will take ownership of security design reviews, threat modeling, and integrating security primitives into our products and infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product management, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC)—to embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will be instrumental in automating security processes through advanced tooling, conducting regular security audits, and staying ahead of emerging AI security risks. Additionally, you will play a vital role in engaging with enterprise clients, articulating our security strategies, and addressing their concerns around data protection and compliance.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a broad and deep understanding of security principles, including web application security, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and networking fundamentals. Hands-on experience with programming, scripting, and DevOps tools for automation is essential, along with familiarity with secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and incident response. The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced startup environment, coupled with strong communication skills to explain complex technical risks to diverse audiences, is crucial. A genuine curiosity and a customer-first mindset are highly valued, ensuring that security solutions align with user needs and business goals.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the security of Sierra's platform, including application, cloud, network, and AI-specific security measures.
Perform secure design reviews, threat modeling, and develop security primitives to enhance product resilience.
Collaborate with engineering, product teams, and GRC to integrate security into the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring security requirements foster innovation.
Implement automation and tooling within CI/CD pipelines to streamline security processes such as vulnerability scans, compliance checks, and infrastructure reviews using AI-driven or next-generation solutions.
Conduct regular security audits, review IAM configurations, and monitor emerging risks associated with AI systems, particularly LLMs and agentic AI.
Develop and recommend strategic security initiatives, establishing best practices as the company scales and evolves.
Engage with enterprise clients by presenting and explaining Sierra's security posture, addressing their concerns related to sensitive data, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
