About the Role:
We’re looking for a dual-threat Senior Accountant: a strong technical accountant with hands-on, in-house operating experience who can own the close, inventory accounting, and compliance end to end, and who is equally comfortable using AI tools (Claude) to automate and accelerate the work. You’ll own day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting, keep our internal controls tight, and help drive the compounding efficiency gains that let Finance support the broader business — not just run a close.
What You'll Work On:
Close & Financial Reporting
Own the monthly close end to end — journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis — delivering accurate GAAP financials on time.
Maintain general ledger integrity; support cash flow reporting, monthly financial reviews, and annual audit and tax requests.
Accounting Operations & Compliance
Run AP and AR, including vendor invoices, and employee reimbursements; reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
Support multi-state sales tax and payroll tax compliance; maintain audit-ready documentation and internal controls; oversee third-party accounting resources.
Inventory Accounting
Own inventory reconciliations, valuation, COGS, and related adjustments across 3PLs and sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, retail) without relying on outside inventory support.
Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to resolve discrepancies and keep inventory accounting accurate.
Systems, AI & Process Improvement
Use Claude and other AI tools to automate recurring workflows, reporting, and analysis — and keep finding the next efficiency gain.
Support integrations across QuickBooks Online, Shopify, Amazon, Ramp, and other platforms; document procedures and strengthen controls as we scale.
Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional issues, ad hoc analysis, and budgeting and forecasting support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, the majority in-house at an operating company.
Hands-on experience booking Shopify and Amazon activity into the GL, including payouts, fees, returns, and reserves (strongly preferred).
In-house experience at a CPG or eCommerce brand preferred, ideally one with a larger or more complex SKU catalog than ours.
Deep command of GAAP and the month-end close; hands-on inventory and COGS accounting experience preferred.
Fluency with AI tools (e.g., Claude) applied to accounting and finance work, and a drive to automate and improve.
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets; QuickBooks Online experience preferred.
Multi-state sales tax compliance experience preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with clear written and verbal communication.
Ownership mindset; thrives managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

An accurate, on-time close with minimal corrections; clean P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, timely tax and compliance filings; and measurable, continuous gains in efficiency and automation that free the team to take on more across the business.
