Role Description The Audit Team Lead is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing audit projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role coordinates and leads audit teams, reviews workpapers and audit reports, and provides guidance on audit methodologies related to Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA programs. The Audit Lead will be responsible for planning, executing and managing audits according to predetermined project scope, CMS protocols, and budget(s). Managing audit execution/processes and ensuring quality control throughout the entire audit life cycles are central to this position.
Project:
1. Lead/manage audit engagement from inception to closure on a day-to-day basis.
2. Accountable for audit results including all aspects of audit and work plans; timeframe, milestones and reports.
3. Work with audit stakeholders to develop work plans outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources and timeline to identify when each task will be completed ensuring audit completed on time and on budget.
4. Identify and raise any issues for team to resolve during audit life cycle.
5. Effectively manage/monitor status of all audit tasks, deliverables and advise VP of any significant variations.
6. Responsible for supporting audit oversight including tracking and reporting on audit milestones and providing status report(s) to client.
7. Support development and design of report formats including key questions to be addressed and all supporting documentation needed to assure key deliverables are met.
8. Measure results based upon defined criteria and complete a post-project evaluation to determine if results were achieved.
9. Develop tools and best practices for audit management and execution.
10. Ensure that proper project close down procedures have been followed and documents appropriately archived upon project completion.
Development of Team Culture
1. Responsible for communicating audit work plans, policies, purposes, and goals to audit team members and stakeholders in a timely manner.
2. Lead audit team members on a proactive basis for successful outcomes. Actively participate with audit team members on a proactive basis for successful outcomes.
Knowledge and Industry Development
1. Maintaining and enhancing industry knowledge and active review of industry developments through review of newly published regulations, coding guidance, protocols, standards, news articles, attendance at industry conferences, etc.
2. Maintaining knowledge of federal and state regulations and conducting analysis as requested.
3. Demonstrated capabilities in managing audits/large projects.
4. Ability to quickly learn other systems or software such as Microsoft.
E. Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. 3-5 years’ work experience in health care, operations, auditing, compliance and/or consulting.

2. Self-directed and independent worker with strong time management skills with the ability to manage and monitor multiple competing priorities.
3. Ability to work independently and exercise judgement.
4. Ability to effectively analyze data and complex issues.
