Role Description The Cloud Architect will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions that align with client business and technical requirements. This contract position is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC, with the flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining cloud architectures, overseeing infrastructure and application design, guiding integration between systems and services, and collaborating with software development teams on cloud-native and hybrid solutions. The Cloud Architect will engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, create technical documentation, evaluate new cloud services, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-effective. The role also involves mentoring technical team members, participating in code and architecture reviews, and supporting ongoing improvements to cloud standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Strong Solution Architecture skills, including designing end-to-end cloud solutions and aligning technical designs with business objectives.
Experience with Infrastructure architecture (compute, storage, networking, security), preferably across major cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Background in Software Development and Architecture, with knowledge of cloud-native design patterns, APIs, and microservices.
Expertise in Integration architecture, including connecting on-premises and cloud systems, data flows, and middleware or integration platforms.
Proficiency in general Architecture principles, including scalability, reliability, performance, and security best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in hybrid cloud environments and enterprise-grade solutions; consulting or client-facing experience is beneficial.
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse and inclusive teams.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent) are a plus.
