Who we are:
Capitol Careers represents world-class employers and highly sought-after talent, aiming to create mutually beneficial connections. We specialize in placing candidates at every experience level, irrespective of industry. We represent people who are professional, transparent, and hardworking because that is the standard we set for ourselves. Abiding by our values, we navigate the intricacies of the recruitment process to advance our clients' missions as well as enhance your career.
About the Role:
Our client is looking for a Director of Total Rewards, Systems & Analytics to lead the department and set the multi-year strategy for compensation, benefits, HRIS, and workforce reporting. You'll translate company strategy into departmental goals, own org design and hiring within your teams, and partner closely with Finance, Legal, and the executive team on pay equity, annual compensation cycles, board-ready workforce metrics, and the systems roadmap that makes all of it scale.
Responsibilities:
Own the global Total Rewards strategy, compensation structure, pay bands and leveling, equity, and benefits, aligning it to company priorities.
Lead and grow the Total Rewards, People Systems, and People Analytics teams, shaping the department's structure through scalable systems, strategic delegation, and people development.
Build the People Analytics practice (headcount, attrition, pay equity, and engagement).
Own the People technology roadmap anchored on Workday, connecting AI-native redesign priorities to how you allocate resources so the function becomes AI Native rather than AI-augmented.
Run the annual compensation and benefits cycles - market benchmarking, merit, bonus, and equity planning - and re-architect them from First Principles rather than short-term workarounds, simplifying the interfaces between People, Finance, and managers so the process scales as the company grows.
Operationalize change across the function - designing Total Rewards and systems processes that respond to change without friction, committing resources with the information available, and equipping managers to lead their teams through change with Change Agility.
Partner with Finance, Legal, and the executive team on pay equity, budget and headcount planning, executive and board compensation materials, and regulatory compliance across regions.
Establish the data governance, controls, and auditability that keep compensation and people data accurate, secure, and defensible — the foundation every downstream talent decision depends on.
Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in Total Rewards, compensation, analytics, including designing and running compensation and benefits programs at scale.
5+ years of people-leadership experience, including managing managers or team leads.
Hands-on ownership of an HRIS (Workday strongly preferred) and the surrounding People technology stack, including data integrity, integrations, and reporting.
Demonstrated experience building People analytics and workforce reporting that executives rely on to make decisions.
Experience partnering with Finance and Legal on pay equity, compensation cycles, and multi-region compliance.
Experience supporting executive and/or board-level compensation.
Global Total Rewards experience across multiple countries (e.g., the US and India).
Familiarity with market benchmarking frameworks.
Experience redesigning People workflows around AI capabilities.
Location:
This is a Remote position. However, candidates must be located in PST.
