Role Description The Land Agent is a contract, remote role based in Kansas and surrounding states. This position is responsible for working with landowners, negotiating lease terms, and supporting the acquisition and administration of land rights for sustainable energy and related projects. Day-to-day tasks include researching property records, preparing and reviewing lease documents, coordinating with legal and project teams, and maintaining accurate land files and databases. The Land Agent will regularly meet with landowners and community stakeholders, address questions and concerns, and ensure compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. The role also involves monitoring lease status, tracking critical dates, and providing clear reports and updates to project managers.
Qualifications
Must be willing to travel regularly to project location.
Experience with lease-focused activities, including Lease Negotiations and managing Leases.
Background in Land Management and Land Acquisition, particularly in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
Proficiency in Lease Administration, including document organization, tracking obligations, and maintaining accurate records.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills for working with landowners and stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions, survey documents, and relevant contracts.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills in a field-based environment.
Familiarity with GIS tools or land record systems is beneficial.
Relevant education or experience in land management, real estate, energy, or a related field.
