Full Stack Developer
As a Full Stack Developer at CEE, you will help develop scalable software solutions that deliver real benefits, ensuring that no one is left behind in the transition to green energy.
You should be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should also be a team player with a knack for visual design and utility.
What you will be doing
Work with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions.
Design client-side and server-side architectures.
Build the front-end of applications with appealing user experiences.
Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
Write effective APIs.
Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
Create security and data protection settings.
Write technical documentation.
Work using agile methodologies.
Collaborate closely with our Energy Specialists, Analysts and Product Development teams.
Assist with research projects using data analysis, statistical analysis and modelling techniques.
Represent the Centre for Energy Equality during project meetings and external events, promoting our work and mission.
Skills and Experience
Motivated and keen to learn new things.
Experience developing desktop and mobile applications.
Knowledge of common languages (e.g. Dart, C#, Java, Python).
Experience with common frameworks (e.g. Flutter, Angular, React).
Familiarity with databases (e.g. Firebase, MySQL, MongoDB).
Experience with UI/UX design.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Great attention to detail.
Knowledge of cloud platforms.
A strong knowledge of API design, development and integration.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with energy data systems and standards (e.g. Elexon, National Grid ESO APIs, ENTSO-E data).
Understanding of energy flexibility markets, including demand-side response, vehicle-to-grid (V2G), and distributed energy resource (DER) integration.
Experience with energy trading or optimisation, such as price forecasting.
Experience working with time-series databases (e.g. InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) for energy or sensor data.
Familiarity with carbon accounting, smart grid data, or energy modelling tools.
Experience integrating software with energy assets such as EV chargers, solar systems, or batteries.
Experience supporting Agent-Based Modelling (ABM) frameworks and simulations, particularly for energy system modelling and scenario analysis.
Education
Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar engineering topic (or equivalent experience).
Location
Flexible UK-based / home working.
Travel (including internationally) may be required for specific projects.
Salary
£30,000 – £70,000 depending on experience.
