Summary:
The lead person directs and leads activities such that orders and banded, stored, and delivered according to customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
The lead person reports to the PIM / Superintendent.
The Job You Will Perform:
following all safety rules and practices;
conduction safety training and performing safety observations.
leading associates, including serving as coach and counselor regarding professional development and when situations arise the affect associates job performance.
supervising associates, including prioritizing and assigning work, and monitoring the quality and quantity of the work performed.
inventory materials, parts, and supplies as required.
establish work practices, and training associates.
conducting regular meetings with all associates to provide quality and performance feedback, address operating issues, provide training, and work on continuous improvement projects.
implementing quality improvement and cost reduction ideas.
taking and maintaining accurate inventories.
insuring that associates perform required inspections and test.
preparing and maintaining accurate records.
maintaining teamwork with other associates.
maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping.
performing other duties as assigned by the site manager.
The Skills You Will Bring:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Strong communication, interpersonal skills and organization preferred.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively preferred.
Solid computer/systems skillset-working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel is required.
Prior experience in parts procurement, inventory management and SAP is preferred.
Qualifications:
Must know, or be willing to learn, every position on the corrugator.
Must be able to work on any shift.
Must be self-driven and show leadership qualities.
Minimum of 1 year corrugator experience preferred.
Cannot have any discipline above a written warning for safety, attendance or job performance.
Certified ability to safely operate a fork lift truck
Certified ability to teach the safe operation of fork lift trucks
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Ability to give instructions
Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team.
