SKYLAB3D delivers end-to-end 3D scanning and reverse engineering solutions across aerospace, automotive, medical/O&P, and industrial manufacturing industries.
Role Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on 3D Application Engineer to lead client technical evaluations, deliver live scanner benchmarking, and provide post-purchase workflow guidance. You will act as the technical domain expert for optical and laser 3D scanning systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform bench tests, scan-to-CAD reconstructions, and dimensional inspection reports on client-supplied sample parts.
Lead live online and onsite technical demonstrations for metrology and portable scanner lines.
Provide application guidance for medical/orthotics capture, First Article Inspection (FAI), and parametric CAD modeling.
Deliver training sessions and ongoing application support for newly deployed systems.
Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience operating portable/handheld 3D scanners or CMM equipment.
Proficiency in CAD software (example: SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) and mesh/point-cloud processing tools.
Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for customer-facing problem-solving.
