The Role
We're looking for a Product Manager to own the feature pipeline across Streamline and Streamline Pro, our freemium product. You'll be the bridge between the field and engineering — translating real educator needs into clear, actionable product specs.
IDEA sets the federal requirements for special education. Most states then add their own on top, and those additions are where compliance software usually breaks.
We're looking for a Product Manager who can read those requirements at the source — state administrative code, SEA procedure manuals, published timelines — and turn them into specs for a data model, a rules engine, and audit ready workflows..
You'll own the feature pipeline for Streamline and for Streamline Pro, our freemium product. They serve different buyers who define "done" differently, and working that out is part of the job.
What You'll Do
Gather and synthesize feature requests from customers, sales, and internal stakeholders
Write detailed PRDs and translate them into Jira tickets for the engineering team
Prioritize the product backlog aligned to company goals and user needs
Partner cross-functionally with sales, ops, and engineering to ship features that matter
Turn regulation into specification. Decide what becomes configuration, what becomes code, and what becomes a district-level setting.
Own the compliance model. Timelines, sequencing and gating, notice obligations, audit trail, versioning when a state changes its forms mid-roadmap.
Decide what we build and what we decline — based on roadmap prioritization that aligns with company strategy.
Write specs an engineer can build without a follow-up meeting. PRDs, acceptance criteria, edge cases, and the Jira tickets that come out of them.
Partner across sales, CX, and engineering to ship the things that actually move deals and retention, and to say no to the things that don't.
Who You Are
3+ years of product management experience in Special Education and EdTech SaaS
Hands-on experience with or deep understanding of special education in K-12 schools — IEP, 504, MTSS. you know the workflows, the compliance requirements, and the personas
You use AI well and check its work. Researching requirements across fifty states is exactly the kind of work AI should speed up, and also the kind where a confident wrong answer is expensive. We want someone who runs research at scale and then confirms the citation before it turns into a ticket.
You have opinions and can defend them. Tell us about a roadmap decision you made where the right answer wasn't the most requested one.
You're comfortable in a startup and fluent in Jira.
Experienced AI user: you draft PRD with AI assistance and overseeing the output that engineers can act on without follow-up
How We Hire
We'll ask you to work a short, real problem: read a published state requirement, tell us what you'd build, what you'd configure, and what you'd decline — and where you'd expect the spec to be wrong. It's about ninety minutes. Bring your AI tools. We're more interested in how you verify than how fast you draft.
