Job Description
Sales Director
Role & Responsibilities
The DSA Sales Director role is responsible for leading strategic business development efforts, strengthening customer partnerships, and translating sales strategy into consistent, executable results. This role represents the Company externally and is focused on facilitating the internal organization’s success. The Sales Director is expected to lead from the front coaching, mentoring, and collaborating closely cross functionally, including product management, account management, operations, and the senior leadership team ensuring accountability, alignment, and successful execution across the entire organization.
1. Prospecting & Lead Generation
The major focus is to drive new business opportunities.
Identifying potential customers through research, referrals, networking, cold calls, and inbound inquiries.
Qualifying leads to determining fitness and likelihood of conversion.
Must have the ability to travel for in-person meetings with customers and other industry meetings.
2. Customer Outreach & Engagement
Be prepared to hold customers accountable for their necessary inputs for our Company’s success.
Making initial contact via phone, email, social media, or in‑person meetings.
Conducting discovery conversations to understand customer needs, challenges, and goals.
Set up the account management team for success.
3. Product or Service Presentation
Developing and delivering customer specific sales presentations.
Explaining product benefits, features, and value propositions clearly.
Serve as an industry expert
4. Relationship Building
Ensure the customer is the right partner for the Company’s value proposition.
Facilitate internal success with exceptional communication and business acumen skills enabling successful execution for team members.
Develop strong, trust‑based relationships with prospects and existing clients with the best interests of the Company’s benefit.
Maintain ongoing communication to support long-term loyalty and repeat business.
5. Sales Pipeline Ownership
Development and execution of a profitable growth-oriented sales plan.
Updating Pipeline information systems with accurate lead times, opportunity risk, and account information.
Weekly touch base meeting with Account Managers to review SIOP report
Weekly updates regarding follow‑ups, next steps, and progress.
6. Negotiation & Closing
Addressing objections and concerns with effective solutions.
Preparing proposals to submit to customer and Account Managers
Securing commitments to close deals.
7. Customer Service & Post‑Sale Support
Monitor success and provide continuous support to the account management team.
8. Market & Product Knowledge
Staying informed about industry trends, competitors, and market changes.
Maintaining a strong understanding of the company’s products and services.
9. Collaboration with Internal Teams
Working with account managers in sure projects hit targeted dates
Coordinating information to operations, finance, and product teams when needed.
Sharing customer feedback internally.
10. Meeting Sales Targets & Reporting
Achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas.
Preparing reports on pipeline performance compared to company plan, forecasts, and challenges specific to your assigned accounts.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Ten Years Retail Merchandising Equipment Experience
Custom Equipment Manufacturing Background
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a Related Field of Study
A “Hunter” mentality
Ability to foment strong customer relationships
