Role Description The Outreach Specialist is a part-time, hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. The individual in this role will build relationships with schools, community organizations, and families to promote Stem Prep Lab’s early STEM education programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating and attending outreach events, responding to inquiries, providing program information, and supporting enrollment and participation. The role also involves creating outreach materials, maintaining contact lists, recording engagement data, and conducting light research on community needs and partnership opportunities. The Outreach Specialist will collaborate with program staff to ensure consistent messaging and a positive experience for all participants and partners.
Qualifications
Strong Communication and Writing skills to engage diverse audiences and produce clear outreach materials.
Customer Service and Community Outreach experience to build trust, manage inquiries, and represent the organization professionally.
Ability to conduct basic Research to identify potential partners, community needs, and opportunities for program expansion.
Interest or experience in education, youth programming, or STEM-related initiatives.
Comfort working in a hybrid environment, including on-site events in Philadelphia, PA and remote administrative tasks.
Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple outreach activities and deadlines.
Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and basic digital tools; experience with CRM or contact databases is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in education, communications, or a related field is preferred.
