Role Overview
Lifting Equipment Store USA (LES USA) is looking for a driven, commercially minded Sales Manager to participate, lead and develop our growing sales function.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, driving performance, developing people, and helping grow a business.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day performance of the sales team, improving sales activity and conversion, developing new business and ensuring opportunities are followed through from initial enquiry to completed order.
The successful candidate will be commercially ambitious, highly organized, confident managing others, and comfortable working in a fast-moving small business where they can have a direct impact.
This is a fully remote position with very limited travel.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Team Leadership & Performance
Lead, manage, motivate, and develop the LES USA sales team.
Demonstrate previous industrial sales experience
Monitor sales activity including quotations, calls, emails, follow-ups, conversion rates, pipeline value, and revenue.
Create and send quotations and actively participate as a member of the sales team.
Conduct regular pipeline reviews and individual performance reviews.
Identify performance gaps and provide coaching, support, and structured improvement plans where required.
Build a culture of accountability, urgency, ownership, and strong customer service.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales team members as the department grows.
Revenue Growth & Sales Strategy
Take responsibility for delivering sales targets and supporting continued revenue growth.
Identify opportunities to increase new customer acquisition, repeat business, average order value, and account growth.
Develop structured outbound sales and prospecting activity.
Pipeline & Opportunity Management
Maintain oversight of the sales pipeline and ensure opportunities are actively progressed.
Ensure quotations and enquiries are followed up consistently and within agreed timescales.
Review significant opportunities and support the team with closing strategies.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide clear visibility of expected revenue.
Identify stalled, lost, and high-value opportunities and determine appropriate next actions.
Ensure accurate use of CRM, quoting, and order-management systems.
Product & Technical Knowledge
Develop a strong understanding of LES USA’s product portfolio including cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, slings, rigging hardware, material handling equipment, fall protection, and associated products.
Ensure the sales team maintains appropriate product and industry knowledge.
Support technically complex enquiries and applications.
Understand relevant product specifications, load ratings, safety requirements, and industry terminology.
Work with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information and identify suitable customer solutions.
Quotation, Pricing & Commercial Management
Ensure quotations are accurate, commercially appropriate, and issued promptly.
Support the team with pricing negotiations, margin decisions, commercial terms, and complex quotations.
Monitor quotation conversion rates and identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain awareness of product margins and ensure sales decisions support profitability for quotes and sales
Assist with negotiations on major contracts and customer agreements and cooperate with the finance team
Order, Vendor & Internal Coordination
Overall responsibility of customer services team regarding smooth handover of orders through purchasing, suppliers and delivery.
Management of small customer services team
Support the resolution of supplier issues, returns, cancellations, delays, and custom orders.
Maintain strong working relationships with key manufacturers and vendors.
Escalate recurring operational or supplier issues where appropriate.
Process Improvement
Continuously review and improve sales processes.
Develop consistent standards for quotation follow-up, prospecting, account management, and pipeline management.
Work with senior management to introduce reporting, systems, and technology that improve sales productivity.
Ensure the sales team follows company procedures and maintains accurate records.
Personal Qualities & Qualifications
Proven B2B sales experience, ideally within industrial equipment, lifting equipment, material handling, construction equipment, fall protection, engineering products, safety products, or a related sector.
Previous experience managing, supervising, mentoring, or developing salespeople.
Strong understanding of sales pipelines, forecasting, prospecting, quotation management, and account development.
Commercially minded with a strong understanding of revenue, margin, conversion rates, and sales performance.
Strong leadership skills with the confidence to hold team members accountable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with sales data and performance metrics.
Self-motivated and effective working remotely.
Strong customer service orientation with high standards of professionalism and integrity.
Technical aptitude and willingness to develop detailed product knowledge.
Advanced computer use

Additional Skills & Desirable Attributes
Experience within industrial distribution or technical product sales.
Experience with CRM, quotation, order-management, ERP, or e-commerce systems.
Experience selling into construction, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, facilities, or industrial customers.
Knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging, cranes, hoists, material handling, or fall protection.
Understanding of OSHA requirements and relevant safety standards.
Experience working with distributors, manufacturers, vendors, and supply-chain partners.
Understanding of logistics, freight, imports, or international sales would be beneficial.
Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively within a growing business.
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, sales, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
