Abstraction Media is a West Hollywood-based production house creating original content for stage, film, and television. We produce large-scale international tours and digital content for a globally touring comedian whose fan base and reach span millions across multiple continents and digital platforms.
About the Role
We are hiring a Reddit Content and Community Manager to take full ownership of our Reddit presence. Reddit is one of the most vital spaces for live comedy, viral clips, fan discourse, and culture-building, and we need an insider who knows the platform inside and out.
This is not a traditional corporate social media manager role. We are looking for someone who natively understands Reddit culture, subreddit dynamics, platform etiquette, anti-spam algorithms, viral clip distribution, and official AMAs. You will sit at the intersection of content distribution, fan community management, and ticket/special promotion, ensuring our comedian has a dominant, authentic, and highly engaged presence across Reddit.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
Proven Reddit track record. You must have demonstrable experience growing accounts, seeding content organically, executing AMAs, managing subreddits, or running successful Reddit campaigns for media, entertainment, creators, or brands.
What You Will Own
Organic Content Distribution & Clip Seeding: Strategically share stand-up clips, podcast highlights, and behind-the-scenes content across relevant subreddits (comedy, regional tour cities, pop culture, media) while respecting community rules and avoiding spam triggers.
AMA & Event Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute official Ask Me Anything (AMA) events and interactive threads around tour drops, special releases, and major announcements.
Subreddit & Community Growth: Monitor and foster official and fan-led subreddits surrounding the comedian. Maintain an active, healthy, and organic dialogue with fans.
Sentiment & Trend Monitoring: Track daily discussions, memes, feedback, and trends across Reddit to inform digital strategy, PR adjustments, and content ideas.
Paid Reddit Campaigns (Optional): Set up and optimize targeted Reddit Ads to support tour ticket sales and special releases when needed.
Performance Reporting: Track upvotes, reach, referral traffic, ticket conversion links, and overall platform growth.
What You Bring
Deep native fluency in Reddit: You understand post timing, title formatting, karma mechanics, shadowbans, subreddit-specific moderation policies, and platform nuances better than anyone else.
Strong understanding of the stand-up comedy ecosystem: You follow comedy subreddits, live entertainment, and online creator spaces.
Sharp tone of voice & discretion: Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt to the comedian's authentic voice and handle confidential materials responsibly.
Data-driven mindset: Ability to analyze what content performs well, why it resonated, and how to replicate viral success across different subreddits.
Adaptability & Speed: Ability to jump on emerging viral moments, news cycles, or trending topics in real time.
Nice to Have
Experience managing subreddits as a moderator or administrator.
Background in entertainment marketing, PR, digital media, or meme page curation.
