We're looking for a Marketing Strategist to own the strategy for the brands you're assigned — and the performance that comes with it. This is a client-facing role. You'll be the person our clients trust with their marketing: the one who sets the direction, defends it in the room, and answers for the number at the end of the quarter.
You need to know marketing end to end — paid, SEO, email, social, web, content, analytics — because you'll decide how a brand's budget splits across all of it, then brief our operations team to build and run it.
This is a position of trust. Clients will trust you with their budget and their numbers. We'll trust you with the client. You'll make calls without checking in first, and you'll own what happens next.
What you'll do:
Clients
Be the client's marketing lead: run the relationship, run the meetings, set expectations, handle the hard conversations
Present strategy and results to senior stakeholders — plan sign-off, quarterly reviews, renewals — and say no when a client asks for something that won't move their objective
Keep the account. Trust is built in the quarters that don't go to plan
Strategy
Own the core strategy for each of your brands: objective, audience, positioning, channel mix, budget split, targets
Own the performance. The number is yours — if the strategy isn't delivering, you change the strategy
Push the thinking. You start from our Total Visibility framework (Create / Convert / Keep), and you're here to develop it, not maintain it — bring ideas, test them on real brands, change what we do when the results say so
Delivery
Brief our operations team — paid, content, design, tech — clearly enough that they can build without a second meeting
Review what comes back against the brief before it reaches the client, and stay on it until it's delivered
Our AI systems do a lot of the repetitive work. You'll use them; you won't need to build them
What's "good" in your first 90 days:
Your clients treat you as their marketing lead, not a name on a status email
Every brand you own has a strategy the client signed off on and a number you're accountable for
You've changed something about how LOKAL thinks about strategy, and it's in use
Qualifications:
5+ years in marketing where you've run the channels yourself — paid media, SEO, email/CRM, social, web, content. Not the best at each; good enough to decide the split, brief a specialist, and catch it when the work is wrong
You've been the client's main contact — owned the relationship, run the meetings, handled the escalation, kept the account through a bad quarter
You've owned a strategy and the number attached to it, and can show the before and after
Comfortable carrying several brands at once
Clear in the room and clear on the page — client conversations and briefs are the product in this role
Open to working Australian time zone hours. The role is 100% remote
Preferred
Clients outside the Philippines and/or MNC client experience. If you've run a client relationship across time zones — Australia, the US, anywhere — that's a real advantage
You've changed how a team thinks about strategy, not just executed what it was handed
Work arrangement
Yes
