Accounting Manager

Responsibilities
Kforce's client in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Senior Accounting Consultant to join its Corporate Accounting team on a long-term contract basis. This role will support critical accounting operations and business continuity while partnering with cross-functional teams across Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, and Equity Administration. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong public company experience, particularly in compensation-related accounting and financial close activities. Key Responsibilities:
Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Perform account reconciliations and variance analyses
Investigate and explain account fluctuations and unusual activity
Support compensation-related accounting activities, including share-based and stock compensation programs
Collaborate with Payroll, Human Resources, FP&A, and other Finance teams
Assist with special projects and broader Corporate Accounting initiatives as needed
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and accounting deliverables
Requirements
5-8 years of accounting experience
Strong technical accounting background and knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close
Public company accounting experience or experience within a similarly complex environment
Experience accounting for share-based compensation, stock compensation, equity awards, RSUs, stock options, or similar programs
Strong account reconciliation and variance analysis experience
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
