Batchly Shop builds inventory and point-of-sale software for counterculture and specialty lifestyle retailers. We help store owners track products, run their registers, and take payments, all in one simple system. We're a small, growing team that values accuracy, clear numbers, and smart decisions.
Role Description
We're looking for an accountant to own our books and keep our finances clean, accurate, and on time. You'll handle day-to-day accounting, month-end close, and reporting, and you'll help leadership understand the numbers so we can make good decisions as we grow.
This is a full-time, remote role. We have offices in the Tampa Bay area, and candidates based there are preferred, but it's not required.
What You'll Do
Keep the books up to date: entries, bills, invoices, and payments
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processor deposits
Run month-end close and prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
Track revenue from software subscriptions and payment processing
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Handle sales tax filings and help with yearly tax prep with our CPA
Build simple reports and budgets so leadership knows where we stand
Keep good records and help set up clean processes as we grow
What We're Looking For
2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Solid understanding of reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statements
Strong with Excel or Google Sheets
Detail-oriented and organized, with numbers you can stand behind
Able to explain the numbers in plain language
Comfortable working on your own at a small, fast-moving company
Bonus: experience with payment processing, merchant deposits, or fintech
Bonus: SaaS or subscription revenue experience
Bonus: an accounting degree or working toward a CPA
Bonus: based in the Tampa Bay area
