About The Role
VoiceLine LS is accepting applications from qualified Temne interpreters for remote, on-demand interpretation opportunities supporting clients worldwide. Temne is principally associated with Sierra Leone. These locations describe major language communities and do not restrict eligibility: this opportunity is remote worldwide and open to qualified applicants globally. This is a freelance independent-contractor opportunity, not a salaried or guaranteed-hours position. Interpreters provide live services on both audio and video calls and may choose when they are available. Call volume varies based on client demand, language, time zone, qualifications, and performance. Projects may pay per completed interpreted minute or per interpreted hour, depending on the client and assignment. Recruiters discuss and negotiate the applicable rate with selected candidates during the interview process, and the agreed terms are confirmed before onboarding. No minimum hours, call volume, or earnings are guaranteed. This posting is an ongoing applicant pool for future and current interpreter demand. Submitting an application does not guarantee an interview, onboarding, a minimum volume of calls, or a work assignment. VoiceLine LS reviews applications against client demand and qualification requirements, and only selected candidates will be invited to the next stage. VoiceLine LS never charges applicants a fee to apply, interview, train, or onboard.
What you'll do
Interpret accurately and impartially between English and the listed language in both directions.
Handle live over-the-phone (audio) and video remote interpretation calls across healthcare, legal, government, insurance, education, customer service, and other settings.
Preserve meaning, tone, register, and confidentiality without adding, omitting, or changing information.
Follow VoiceLine LS, client, privacy, security, and professional interpreter protocols.
Maintain a quiet, professional workspace and reliable equipment while available for calls.
Complete required onboarding, compliance documentation, assessments, and training when selected.
What we're looking for
Professional fluency in English and the listed language, with strong listening, memory, and communication skills.
Interpretation experience is preferred; relevant training or certification is an advantage where required by a client or jurisdiction.
A reliable computer, high-speed internet connection, quality headset, webcam, and private workspace suitable for audio and video calls.
Ability to work independently, protect confidential information, and follow professional ethics and conduct standards.
Ability to provide services as an independent contractor in the applicant's country of residence and to supply any required tax or identity documentation.
