Job Overview:
Henlius is a global, innovation-driven, and patient-centric biopharmaceutical company committed to delivering high-quality biologic therapies to patients worldwide. We are looking for MSL's located Centrally or on the East Coast. Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) are a field-based team of scientists who function as an extension of the US Medical Affairs department. MSLs are responsible for developing professional relationships with the healthcare community to provide medical education for approved and experimental therapeutics in alignment with medical affairs strategy. MSLs provide medical information through scientific exchange, clinical/scientific support of clinical trials, and serve as external-facing scientific experts representing Henlius and its products.
Essential Functions
Field Engagement:
Identify and develop peer-to-peer relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare providers within targeted disease areas.
Provide objective medical education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) through on-site presentations, investigator meetings, national/regional conferences, advisory boards, and 1-on-1 meetings.
Attends scientific congresses to stay up-to-date with current standard of care and emerging scientific and clinical advancements in therapeutic areas relevant to Henlius.
Scientific Leadership:
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of core therapeutic areas, Henlius products, new and emerging areas of research, therapeutic issues and trends, and competitive landscape.
Effectively communicates complex medical and scientific information to both internal, including commercial and marketing teams, and external stakeholders,
Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights to clinical and medical leadership.
Represent the company at scientific meetings and conferences.
Provide support for data generation activities via company-sponsored studies, and investigator-initiated research.
Cross functional partnership with internal teams, including clinical development, commercial, and marketing, to ensure alignment and optimize customer experience.
Medical Affairs Planning:
Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with US Medical Affairs strategy.
Support the strategy and development of investigator-initiated research in alignment with brand and medical strategy.
Gather competitive intelligence, identify unmet needs, and collate insights from healthcare professionals to inform medical and clinical development strategies.
Required:
Ability to research and critically analyze and communicate complex scientific and medical information and data.
Clear and concise communication and presentation skills.
Excellent planning and organization skills, with high-level attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong strategic mindset.
Highly self-motivated and ability to work autonomously.
Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and results-focused in a rapidly changing environment.
Adept at inter-personal relationship building, networking, collaboration and teamwork.
Strong capability for working with digital platforms and tools are required.
Excellent command of spoken English.
Ability and willingness to travel at least 60% of workdays.
Knowledge of geography, healthcare environment and external experts in academia and medical community.
Demonstrated ability to develop trust and relationships with opinion leaders in disease states of interest.
Understanding of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.
Experience in oncology.
Experience as a Medical Science Liaison with a strong track record of success is strongly preferred.
Education And Licenses:
Advanced degree (Master of Science or equivalent, PharmD, MD, PhD or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the therapeutic area of interest.
License (RN, NP, CNP, PA or equivalent) with a minimum of a master’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in clinical practice.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a MSL or comparable industry or clinical role is required.
Valid driver’s license and live within 60 miles of a major airport.
