Civil Litigation Paralegal | Hybrid | Woodland Hills, CA
Zelms Erlich Lenkov LLP is seeking a civil litigation paralegal to join our team of legal researchers. You will support our practice by preparing documents such as affidavits and legal correspondence, organizing and maintaining files, filing pleadings with court clerks, and helping prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as required.
The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, can multitask effectively, and thrives in a busy, team-oriented environment.
This is a hybrid position, with some time spent working on site in our Woodland Hills office. The frequency and schedule of in-office work will be determined. Candidates must live in the Los Angeles area and be available to work in the Woodland Hills office as needed.
Paralegal Responsibilities
Prepare subpoenas, affidavits, legal correspondence, and other documents for attorneys.
Organize and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems.
Meet with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss case details.
File pleadings with court clerks.
Help prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as needed.
Prepare briefs, wills, contracts, real estate closing statements, pleadings, appeals, and other legal documents.
Investigate case facts and applicable law, searching public records and other resources to help prepare cases and determine causes of action.
Direct and coordinate law office activities, including delivery of subpoenas.
Gather and analyze statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, documents, and other data.
Arrange for witnesses to testify at hearings.
Keep the law library up to date by monitoring legal volumes.
Paralegal Requirements
Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal education and training program or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
Associate degree.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to multitask effectively, manage time-sensitive documents, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to function effectively in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Office administration experience.
Two or more years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience.
Job Summary
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 annually
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with time in the Woodland Hills office; in-office frequency and schedule to be determined.
