The Opportunity
RenegadesMedia is a marketing, design and strategy firm built by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. We help growing businesses solve operational problems and build systems that hold up in the real world.
We’re hiring an Automation and AI Solutions Engineer to design, build and own internal systems and client-facing solutions. The work may involve CRM architecture, lead routing, data flows, customer communications, reporting, AI-assisted processes and integrations between the tools a business relies on every day.
You’ll work directly with our leadership team and clients. We need someone who can understand the business behind the request, identify what’s missing, recommend a sound approach and execute it. You’ll have room to make technical decisions and the responsibility to see how those decisions perform.
What You’ll Own
Lead discovery for automation and AI projects, including mapping the current process, the desired outcome and the people affected
Design and build workflows across CRMs, databases, communication tools, APIs and other business platforms
Decide where AI adds value, then build appropriate context, validation, review and fallback steps around it
Identify the source of truth for critical data and prevent duplicates, missed actions and conflicting records
Test normal paths, edge cases and failure states before launch
Monitor live systems, investigate issues and fix the underlying cause
Document how systems work so our team and clients can operate them confidently
Keep stakeholders informed about progress, tradeoffs, risks and decisions
Improve systems as business needs change
Some projects will start with a clear request. Others will start with a client saying, “This process keeps breaking,” or “We’re spending too much time doing this by hand.” You should be comfortable taking either one from discovery through a working solution.
What We’re Looking For
You have substantial hands-on experience building and maintaining production automations, particularly with tools such as Make.com, Zapier and n8n. You’ve worked with Airtable or a comparable database platform and understand how to structure data that multiple workflows depend on.
You’re comfortable with:
Multi-step workflows, APIs, webhooks and data mapping
CRMs such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce or Keap
Error handling, retries, monitoring and recovery
Debugging issues across several connected systems
Designing for duplicate events, missing data and other real-world exceptions
Explaining technical decisions to clients and nontechnical teammates
You also have sound judgment. You ask for context before building. You can push back when a proposed approach is fragile and explain what you recommend instead. You work with urgency without skipping the thinking that makes the result dependable.
AI experience matters for this role. We’re interested in people who have built or meaningfully contributed to AI-assisted business workflows, whether that involves classifying information, extracting and checking data, drafting communications, helping teams act on customer context or connecting models to existing systems. We care most about how you assess accuracy, handle exceptions and make the workflow useful to the people relying on it.
Experience with JavaScript, Python, agency or consulting work, home services, reporting dashboards and sales or marketing operations is valuable.

Clients and teammates can rely on the systems you build. Work that once required repeated manual intervention becomes clearer and easier to manage. When something fails, we know what happened and how to recover. Over time, there are fewer recurring problems, fewer loose ends and less work falling back on leadership to catch.
You’ll have direct access to the people and context needed to do the job well. As RenegadesMedia grows, this role can expand into larger client engagements and senior systems leadership.
