Dental Benefits Verification Specialist (Remote)

Remote Opportunity - Hours 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-2pm on Friday EST.
Job Summary
The Dental Benefit Verification Specialist plays an essential role in ensuring that patients receive the most accurate and timely verification of their insurance benefits. The role requires collaboration with different departments, including offices, to achieve specific objectives. The Specialist is dedicated to keeping all information current and accurate which greatly enhances the overall quality of patient care and fosters a supportive healthcare environment.
Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
Compiles dental insurance verification of benefit and eligibility information within required timeframe.
Ensures verification of benefit and eligibility information obtained from payer/insurance company is accurately entered to practice management software, including plan details such as, restrictions, coverage, deductibles, remaining benefits, and history.
Inability to obtain a verification of benefit or incomplete information is reported to the manager immediately.
Responsible for maintaining a system for initial and subsequent verification of benefits.
Responsible for daily reporting of verification of benefit activities.
Prepares and maintains individual patient file, documentation in electronic HIPAA compliant application (box) or patient chart.
Keeps supervisor apprised of matters regarding verification of benefits.
Always represents Company in a professional manner.
Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and honesty in all NCPEDO affairs.
Other duties as assigned.

Education And Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience account audits for a fast-paced dental practice. Proficiency of one or more dental software systems: Open Dental, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or others.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, such as: Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficient in PDF and/or Foxit software.
Experience working in dental offices or insurance verification preferred.
