Technical Consultant (Waste Management)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Consultant (Waste Management) based in Brazil.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to international waste management consultancy projects with meaningful environmental and social impact.
You will support technical assignments across solid and hazardous waste streams, developing practical solutions tailored to local contexts.
Working alongside senior consultants and project managers, you will contribute to technical analysis, project delivery, reporting, and client engagement.
The position provides exposure to diverse markets, regulatory environments, waste management challenges, and multidisciplinary project teams.
You will progressively take ownership of technical tasks while strengthening your consulting, analytical, and project management capabilities.
Depending on project requirements, the role may combine remote work with client-site visits, facility assessments, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.

Accountabilities
Contribute to technical analyses covering solid waste management and selected areas of hazardous waste management.
Support the development of technical concepts, assessments, recommendations, and context-specific solutions under the guidance of senior consultants.
Research and apply relevant waste management regulations, standards, and industry best practices at national, regional, and international levels.
Adapt technical approaches to local regulatory, institutional, operational, and market conditions.
Support consultancy project planning and implementation by tracking tasks, milestones, deliverables, and project requirements.
Participate in client meetings, workshops, facility visits, technical assessments, and stakeholder activities when required.
Contribute technical input and reliable delivery to help maintain strong, professional client relationships.
Draft technical reports, presentations, and other project deliverables in accordance with client expectations and international standards.
Collect, analyze, organize, and document project data while ensuring accuracy and consistency across outputs.
Incorporate feedback from senior team members and continuously improve the quality of technical documentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across technical, financial, policy, and project management functions.
Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions, training, mentoring, and team development activities.
Follow established project delivery, quality assurance, and documentation processes.
Contribute ideas to improve technical tools, templates, workflows, and project processes.
Stay informed about emerging waste management technologies, regulatory developments, and industry trends.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Waste Management, or a related discipline.
More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in solid waste management, environmental consulting, or a closely related field.
Initial experience with hazardous waste management is an advantage but is not mandatory.
Previous experience supporting consultancy projects, technical studies, assessments, or similar assignments is preferred.
Strong understanding of waste management principles and the ability to research and apply relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Familiarity with data analysis, technical reporting, and basic project coordination or management tools is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information and develop practical recommendations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary and international teams.
Fluency in English is required for international project work and communication.
Additional languages such as German, Arabic, French, Spanish, or Portuguese are an advantage depending on project requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel and work at client locations when required by specific projects.
