Finance Expert

Overview
Handshake is looking for experienced finance professionals to support AI research through flexible, part-time contract work. This is not a traditional job — you'll draw on your hands-on experience in investing, capital markets, or deal execution to evaluate AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI reason like a practicing finance professional.
This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current role.
What You'll Do
Use your domain expertise to create expert-level finance problems and scenarios grounded in real deal analysis, valuation, and investment decision-making
Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, practical feasibility, and alignment with how the work is actually done
Provide structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
Complete tasks at your own pace with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement
Qualifications
Ideal candidates meet all three of the following:
Industry/research experience — minimum 1 year of professional experience at a well-known firm or legitimate startup, with direct exposure to real financial analysis, deal execution, or investment decision-making
Degree — Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related quantitative field
Sub-domain depth — demonstrated expertise in one of the following areas:
Investing (venture capital, private equity, or growth equity)
Hedge fund experience (public markets, equity research, macro, or credit)
Investment banking (M&A, capital markets, or corporate finance)
Additional Qualifications (not Required, But Strengthen Your Application)
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (Excel, DCF, comps, LBO, or similar)
Experience at a recognized, brand-name firm in your sub-domain, or progress toward a credential such as the CFA
