Wiglo is built in Pune by two experienced co-founders—one with decades of risk experience in large banks and one with long HR experience—supported by a small, thoughtful team. Role Description The Applied AI Engineer will design, build, and refine machine learning models that power Wiglo’s assessment and scoring systems, ensuring they remain accurate, transparent, and aligned with the product’s privacy-first principles. In this full-time, on-site role based in Pune Division, the engineer will work closely with co-founders and product teammates to translate risk and HR domain expertise into robust AI pipelines, from data preprocessing through deployment. Day-to-day responsibilities include experimenting with pattern recognition techniques, developing and training neural network architectures, and applying NLP methods to interpret user input. The role also involves implementing production-quality software components, monitoring model performance, and iterating on algorithms based on feedback and new product features. The engineer will contribute to technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and help shape the long-term AI roadmap for Wiglo.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, and clean, maintainable code practices.
Applied experience with Pattern Recognition and Neural Networks for real-world decisioning or scoring systems.
Hands-on expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), including text preprocessing, feature extraction, and model deployment.
Proficiency with modern ML/AI tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow, scikit-learn), and experience building end-to-end ML pipelines.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, cross-functional team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and incorporate domain expertise into model design.
Experience with privacy-aware system design, risk modeling, or HR analytics is a plus.
Comfort working on-site in Pune Division and engaging in iterative product development and review cycles.
