Role Description The Technical Manager Mechanical Testing and Technical Services role is a full-time, on-site position based in Navi Mumbai. The role involves overseeing mechanical and corrosion testing operations, ensuring adherence to NABL and ISO / IEC 17025:2017 standards, and maintaining high-quality laboratory practices. The Technical Manager will supervise technical teams, allocate resources, and coordinate projects to meet client timelines and performance requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing technical guidance, reviewing test plans and reports, troubleshooting complex testing issues, and supporting research and development initiatives to expand the scope of services. The role also requires interaction with clients and third-party inspectors, contributing to technical proposals, and continuously improving testing methodologies and workflows.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret test data, identify trends, and recommend technical solutions.
Candidates should possess Team Management skills, including mentoring staff, delegating tasks, and promoting a safe, collaborative laboratory environment.
Candidates should possess Technical Support skills, including resolving testing issues, advising clients on test methodologies, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Candidates should possess Research and Development (R&D) skills, including developing new test methods, optimizing existing procedures, and staying updated on emerging testing technologies.
Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, monitoring project progress, and meeting quality and delivery targets.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
Experience in accredited testing laboratories, familiarity with NABL and ISO / IEC 17025:2017 requirements, and knowledge of mechanical and corrosion testing techniques.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with clients, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
