About the Role
Iconmov Technologies is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer – Flexible Chain Conveyors to take ownership of developing and expanding our Flexible Chain Conveyor business across India.
This is a highly field-oriented technical sales role for someone who enjoys understanding customer applications, visiting manufacturing plants, identifying automation and material-handling requirements, developing the right conveyor solution, and converting those opportunities into business.
The person will be expected to step out extensively, meet customers, understand their production processes, work with engineering teams to develop solutions, and build a strong customer base in high-potential industries such as Food, Pharma, Packaging and FMCG.
This is an opportunity to build a category rather than simply sell an existing product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the Flexible Chain Conveyor business for Iconmov Technologies across the assigned territory.
Identify and develop new customers in Food, Pharma, Packaging, FMCG and allied manufacturing industries.
Conduct regular customer visits to understand production lines, material-flow requirements and conveyor applications.
Understand customer processes and translate application requirements into appropriate conveyor solutions.
Identify opportunities for new conveyor installations, line modifications, replacements and upgrades.
Generate leads through direct customer visits, industry networking, references, exhibitions and systematic market development.
Work closely with customers, machine builders, system integrators, OEMs and plant engineering teams.
Prepare technical proposals, conveyor concepts, quotations and commercial offers in coordination with the internal engineering team.
Participate in technical discussions and present solutions to customers.
Follow up on enquiries from initial application understanding through negotiation and order closure.
Develop long-term relationships with key accounts and create repeat business.
Map target industries, customers and applications to build a strong sales pipeline.
Study competitor products and market trends and identify opportunities for Iconmov's Flexible Chain Conveyor solutions.
Coordinate with design, engineering, production and execution teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Take ownership of sales targets, pipeline development and business growth for the assigned product category.
Build Iconmov's presence and reputation as a technical solution provider for conveyor applications.
What We Are Looking For
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering or related field.
2–6 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, conveyor systems, industrial automation, material handling or machine-building.
Strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and mechanical systems.
Candidates with experience in conveyors, conveyor components, packaging machinery, food-processing machinery, pharma machinery or factory automation will be preferred.
Ability to understand drawings, layouts and basic mechanical concepts.
Good application-oriented problem-solving ability.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Comfortable interacting with plant heads, production managers, maintenance teams, purchase teams, machine builders and engineering teams.
Willingness to travel extensively and spend significant time meeting customers and developing business in the field.
Strong commercial sense and the ability to convert technical discussions into business opportunities.
Self-driven, proactive and capable of working independently.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is not just an order-taking salesperson.
The ideal candidate should be someone who can walk into a manufacturing plant, understand the customer's production process, identify where a conveyor solution can improve the operation, discuss the application technically, develop the right solution with the engineering team and ultimately convert the opportunity into an order.
